Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

When the gang from the Hundred Acre Wood begin a honey harvest, young Piglet is excluded and told that he is too small to help. Feeling inferior, Piglet disappears and his pals Eeyore, Rabbit, Tigger, Roo and Winnie the Pooh must use Piglet's scrapbook as a map to find him. In the process they discover that this very small animal has been a big hero in a lot of ways.

The Quartile Take

Piglet's Big Movie is a warm but formulaic entry in the Winnie the Pooh franchise. The plot is thin and episodic, relying on flashback vignettes from Piglet's scrapbook rather than a cohesive narrative, making it feel more like a compilation than a true feature film. The voice acting maintains the charm of the beloved characters, staying true to the source material. Visually it follows the classic hand-drawn storybook aesthetic of the franchise competently but without particular distinction. Novelty is low as it is a fairly by-the-numbers direct-to-theater Pooh adventure with a recycled 'small character proves their worth' theme common to the series. The ending delivers the expected emotional payoff about friendship and self-worth, which satisfies young audiences without surprising anyone.
