A fireman takes an unexpected course of action when a man whom he's been ordered to testify against—after being held up at a local convenience store—threatens him.
Fire with Fire is a largely forgettable direct-to-VOD action thriller that follows a well-worn witness-protection revenge template without meaningful deviation. The plot is paint-by-numbers, recycling familiar beats of a reluctant witness who goes vigilante. The cast — including Josh Duhamel, Bruce Willis, and Vincent D'Onofrio — elevates the material somewhat through sheer professionalism, but no one is given much to work with. Cinematography is competent but flat and unremarkable, typical of mid-budget action fare. The villain and resolution are both generic, and the ending offers little payoff beyond conventional closure. Novelty is minimal; the firefighter angle is window dressing on a stock story.
