When a mysterious brick wall encloses their apartment building overnight, Tim and Olivia must unite with their wary neighbors to get out alive.
Brick has an intriguing high-concept premise — a mysterious wall trapping residents overnight — but squanders it with a derivative, cliché-riddled execution. The estranged-couple dynamic and conspiracy thriller beats feel recycled, and the plot struggles to sustain tension across its runtime. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with characters fitting familiar archetypes rather than feeling distinct. Cinematography benefits from the claustrophobic huis clos setting, using confined spaces to reasonable effect. Novelty gets a modest bump for the singular brick-wall conceit, even if the film doesn't fully capitalize on it. The ending, per the keywords and low reception, apparently fails to deliver a satisfying payoff, undermining whatever intrigue the premise built.
