The sailor of legend is framed by the goddess Eris for the theft of the Book of Peace, and must travel to her realm at the end of the world to retrieve it and save the life of his childhood friend Prince Proteus.
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is a competent but formulaic adventure that blends Greek mythology with Arabian Nights aesthetics without fully committing to either. The plot is predictable with a love triangle and quest structure that hits familiar beats, and the ending resolves too neatly and predictably to leave much impression. The voice cast — Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer — brings genuine charisma and elevates what could have been flat characters. The animation mixes traditional 2D with early 3D in ways that sometimes clash visually, though the creature and sea sequences show ambition. Novelty is low as the film treads well-worn DreamWorks adventure territory without a distinctive voice or fresh angle on its mythological material.
