Two L.A. teens with summer jobs at Good Burger try to save their small restaurant when a corporate giant burger franchise moves in across the street.
Good Burger is a nostalgic cult favorite spun off from the All That sketch, carried largely by Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell's infectious comedic chemistry. The plot is thin and formulaic — small vs. corporate chain is a well-worn premise executed at a very basic level. Acting is elevated above average by the leads' genuine comedic timing and physical humor, which is the film's real appeal. Cinematography is unremarkable TV-movie level work. Novelty gets a slight bump for the genuinely oddball humor and Ed's surreal, singular character energy, which gives the film a distinctive voice even within its conventional shell. The ending resolves predictably with little surprise or emotional payoff.
