A master thief recruits a notorious thief to help him steal two famous Faberge eggs from an impenetrable vault in an effort to pull off one final job and repay his debt to the Russian mob.
Thick as Thieves is a fairly formulaic heist thriller with a well-worn 'one last job' premise involving a master thief, Russian mob debts, and Fabergé eggs. The plot hits familiar genre beats without much surprise or ingenuity. The acting is serviceable thanks to its cast (Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas), elevating otherwise thin material. The cinematography is competent but unremarkable for the genre. Novelty is low — the film recycled heist movie conventions without a distinctive voice or memorable set-pieces. The ending resolves predictably with few genuine twists that land with impact.
