The Quartile Take

District 13: Ultimatum is a straightforward sequel that recycles the parkour-and-action formula of the original without meaningfully expanding on it. The plot is a thin corruption thriller with predictable twists and underdeveloped characters. Acting is functional but unremarkable. The cinematography capably captures the frenetic chase and fight sequences but offers nothing beyond the first film's template. As a sequel, novelty is notably diminished — the parkour and banlieue setting were fresh in the original but feel routine here. The ending resolves things tidily but without much dramatic weight.
