The Quartile Take

This 2009 DC animated feature is a solid, faithful adaptation of Wonder Woman's origin story with genuine mythological scope and surprising narrative confidence for an animated superhero film. The plot covers Diana's origin, Greek gods, and clashing cultures with decent momentum, though it follows the expected beats without major surprises. Voice acting from Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion is charming and carries real chemistry, keeping it above average for the format. Cinematography/animation is competent but limited by DC's direct-to-video animation budget of the era — functional rather than visually distinctive. Novelty is moderate: it was one of the first serious solo Wonder Woman theatrical/animated treatments and handles its mythological elements with more seriousness than typical, but the story structure is conventional. The ending delivers satisfying action and emotional resolution without being particularly memorable or daring.
