When Lady Tremaine steals the Fairy Godmother's wand and changes history, it's up to Cinderella to restore the timeline and reclaim her prince.
Cinderella III is a surprisingly self-aware direct-to-video sequel that subverts expectations by giving Cinderella genuine agency and flipping the fairy tale premise in an entertaining way. The plot is more inventive than typical Disney sequels of its era, using time manipulation to deconstruct the original story. However, the animation is serviceable rather than theatrical — competent but unremarkable for a DTV release. Voice acting is adequate but lacks the weight of the original cast. The ending is satisfying and earns its happy conclusion, and the villain's expanded role adds genuine menace, but it still resolves fairly conventionally. Its distinctiveness within the DTV sequel landscape earns it modest novelty points.
