Jackass 3D (2010)

Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Wee Man and the rest of their fearless and foolhardy friends take part in another round of outrageous pranks and stunts. In addition to standing in the path of a charging bull, launching themselves into the air and crashing through various objects, the guys perform in segments such as "Sweatsuit Cocktail," "Beehive Tetherball" and "Lamborghini Tooth Pull."

The Quartile Take

Jackass 3D is exactly what it promises: escalating gross-out stunts and pranks with no narrative pretense. Plot rates 1 because there simply isn't one — it's episodic chaos by design. Acting gets a 2 since the crew's genuine camaraderie and self-deprecating charisma carry a loose charm, though it's not performance in any traditional sense. Cinematography earns a 3 — the 3D format was used with surprising creativity and the high-speed camera work on impacts and fluid explosions is legitimately impressive. Novelty lands at 2 because by the third film the formula is well-established; the 3D gimmick adds a layer but the concept is no longer fresh. The ending gets a 2 — the sentimental slow-motion montage to 'Memories' is a fun nod to the crew's history but doesn't elevate the film meaningfully.
