38-year-old Alice has everything to become the next editor-in-chief of Rebelle magazine except for her uptight image. But when the young and charming Balthazar, barely 20, crosses Alice's path, she realizes that he holds the key to her promotion.

The Quartile Take

It Boy is a light French romantic comedy that follows a fairly predictable cougar-romance premise with little subversion. The plot is formulaic — older woman, younger man, career ambitions intertwined — offering few surprises. Acting is passable and charming enough, with the leads providing decent chemistry that keeps the film watchable. Cinematography is standard rom-com fare, competently shot but unremarkable. Novelty is low as the concept recycles familiar territory without a distinctive voice or execution. The ending wraps up predictably in line with genre expectations, neither disappointing nor memorable.
