The extraordinary story of the planet’s most famous contemporary scientist, told in his own words and by those closest to him. Made with unique access to Hawking’s private life, this is an intimate and moving journey into Stephen's world, both past and present.
A respectful and intimate documentary portrait of Stephen Hawking that benefits from rare personal access and Hawking's own narration, lending it warmth and authenticity. However, as a biographical documentary it follows fairly conventional talking-head and archival footage formats without distinctive stylistic innovation. The personal testimony from family and colleagues adds emotional depth, but the overall approach is competent rather than groundbreaking. Novelty is limited given the well-trodden biographical documentary genre and the existence of prior Hawking films and profiles.
