The film shows Beyoncé from intimate moments of her pregnancy to behind the scenes and rehearsals of the main concerts of that time.
A self-directed celebrity documentary that offers genuine intimacy — pregnancy footage, candid family moments, and creative process glimpses — but is ultimately constrained by its subject controlling her own narrative. The cinematography has polished, stylized moments mixed with raw handheld footage that creates an interesting visual contrast. Novelty gets a modest bump for the self-directed angle and the unusually personal access Beyoncé granted, though the hagiographic structure is familiar territory for music docs. The ending lacks a strong dramatic payoff, feeling more like a promotional coda than a satisfying conclusion. Acting is not really applicable but Beyoncé's on-camera presence and performance footage are compelling.
