In Martha's Vineyard, Mass., conjoined twins Walt and Bob Tenor make the best of their handicap by being the fastest grill cooks in town. While outgoing Walt hopes to one day become a famous actor, shy Bob prefers to stay out of the spotlight. When a fading Hollywood actress, Cher, decides to get her show "Honey and the Beaze" cancelled, she hires Walt -- and his brotherly appendage -- as her costars. But their addition surprisingly achieves the opposite.
Stuck on You is a Farrelly Brothers comedy with a genuinely warm heart beneath its crude humor, but it remains a mixed bag. The plot is thin and predictable, following a fairly formulaic fish-out-of-water arc with little narrative surprise. The acting is a highlight — Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear have genuine chemistry and commit fully to the physical demands, and Cher's self-deprecating cameo adds charm. Cinematographically it's workmanlike at best, with no distinctive visual style to speak of. Novelty is moderate — the conjoined twin premise is unusual and the Farrellys manage to treat disability with unexpected sensitivity while still delivering lowbrow laughs, giving it a somewhat distinctive tone. The ending is feel-good but overly tidy and unsurprising, wrapping up too neatly to leave any lasting impression.
