After exorcising the demons of his ex, Malcolm starts afresh with his new girlfriend and her two children. After moving into their dream home, Malcolm is once again plagued by bizarre paranormal events.
A Haunted House 2 is a formulaic horror parody that recycles the same found-footage spoof premise as its predecessor with diminishing returns. The plot is a loose assemblage of gags riffing on Sinister, The Conjuring, and Paranormal Activity sequels, offering little narrative cohesion beyond stringing together set pieces. Marlon Wayans commits physically to his performance but the material limits the cast significantly. Cinematography is functional and deliberately low-fi in keeping with the found-footage parody aesthetic, but offers nothing distinctive. Novelty scores very low as this is a by-the-numbers sequel that retreads the original's formula without adding anything meaningfully new in concept or execution. The ending is similarly perfunctory, resolving the thin premise without much payoff.
