Lisa Dolittle sends her daughter to 'Durango', a Dude Ranch, to find herself. While there, she uses her talent to talk to the animals in order to save Durango from being taken over by a neighboring Ranch.
Dr. Dolittle 3 is a direct-to-video sequel that strips away the franchise's star power and retreads familiar territory with a ranch setting. The plot is formulaic and predictable, the acting is serviceable at best from a largely unknown cast, and the cinematography is flat and TV-movie quality. Novelty is essentially nonexistent — it recycles the talking-animal gimmick in a by-the-numbers story with no distinctive voice or craft. The ending resolves neatly but without surprise or emotional resonance, typical of low-budget family fare.
