A gigolo must contend with the prospect that he has found true love.
Spread is a fairly by-the-numbers romantic dramedy about a shallow LA gigolo who discovers genuine feelings. Ashton Kutcher brings some charm to the lead but the script is thin and predictable, recycling familiar tropes of the womanizer-finds-love arc without much depth. The cinematography captures glossy LA surfaces adequately but unremarkably. The ending lands without much impact or surprise, leaving little impression. The film has modest novelty in its frank depiction of male sexual parasitism but doesn't push the concept far enough to stand out distinctively.
