After the Club Med and skiing, what happened to the Bronzés 27 years later? Early response: the same, and worse.
A decades-later reunion sequel to the beloved French Bronzés films, Friends Forever is widely regarded as a disappointing cash-in on nostalgia. The plot retreads the same character dynamics and comedic situations from the originals with little invention, the comedy feels strained and recycled, and the novelty is essentially nil — it is a by-the-numbers revival that adds nothing distinctive to the franchise. Acting from the returning ensemble is competent but uninspired, and the Sardinian setting is shot in an unremarkable, TV-movie fashion. The ending resolves nothing meaningfully and leaves audiences cold. The low TMDB score reflects broad consensus that this sequel failed to capture the charm of the originals.
