Quartile rating: 6.5/10 · 1 rating

Twins separated at birth, Camryn and Alex meet by chance for the first time on their 21st birthday and discover they're witches with the power to save their homeland of Coventry from the evil that threatens it. But when Camryn leaves Alex to face the darkness alone, will Coventry be doomed? Or will the sisters multiply their magic by standing together?

The Quartile Take

Twitches is a pleasant but formulaic Disney Channel TV movie that hits familiar beats: separated twins, magical heritage, good vs. evil, and a reconciliation message. The plot borrows liberally from witch-twin fantasy tropes without offering much new ground. The acting from Tia and Tamera Mowry is the film's genuine strength — their natural chemistry and comedic timing elevate the material noticeably above typical TV movie fare. Cinematography is workmanlike TV-movie standard with no particular visual ambition. Novelty is low given the by-the-numbers execution of well-worn fantasy tropes. The ending is reasonably satisfying for its target audience, wrapping up the sisterhood and magical threat in a crowd-pleasing way.
