The plot relies on a wish-fulfillment diary device that feels contrived and familiar, with little narrative surprise. The 3D animation is serviceable for its era and budget but unremarkable. Voice acting is functional but not distinctive. The ending resolves tidily in an expected fashion with minimal emotional payoff.
