Quartile rating: 6/10 · 1 rating
Dale, Kurt and Nick decide to start their own business but things don't go as planned because of a slick investor, prompting the trio to pull off a harebrained and misguided kidnapping scheme.
Horrible Bosses 2 is a largely formulaic sequel that recycles the comedic dynamics of the original without adding much new. The kidnapping plot feels contrived and episodic rather than cleverly constructed. The three leads (Bateman, Day, Sudeikis) have solid chemistry and deliver competent comedic performances, which remains the film's strongest asset. Cinematography is unremarkable sitcom-level work. Novelty is low given the by-the-numbers sequel structure and recycled character beats. The ending wraps up predictably without any memorable payoff.
