A boy's life is turned upside down when he learns that he is the last of a group of immortal warriors who have dedicated their lives to fighting the forces of the dark.
The Seeker is a largely forgettable YA fantasy adaptation that strips much of the depth and British atmosphere from Susan Cooper's beloved novel. The plot follows a generic 'chosen one' template executed without flair, the acting is serviceable but unremarkable, the cinematography is competent but uninspired, and the ending resolves conflict in a perfunctory manner. It offers little that distinguishes it from the wave of mid-2000s YA fantasy adaptations.
