Quartile rating: 5/10 · 1 rating

The Quartile Take

Taxi 4 is a fourth installment in a franchise that had already largely exhausted its comedic and action premises by the second film. The plot retreads familiar ground with Emilien's bumbling antics and Daniel's souped-up taxi, offering little new beyond a Belgian criminal twist. Acting remains serviceable but uninspired, with the cast going through well-worn motions. Cinematography is competent but generic action-comedy fare with nothing visually distinctive. Novelty scores lowest as this is a deeply formulaic sequel recycling the same gags and structure from predecessors. The ending wraps up predictably without any memorable payoff.
