Five friends forge their resumes and enroll to Oxford in orders to help one of them end up with the girl he's in love with.
Brain Drain is a lightweight Italian comedy with a formulaic romantic premise — friends helping one of their own win a girl by fraudulently enrolling at Oxford. The plot is predictable and driven by well-worn tropes of mistaken identity and romantic pursuit. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, as is the cinematography, which is functional rather than distinctive. The premise of Italians abroad adds mild cultural flavor but the execution is derivative of countless similar comedies. The ending resolves predictably along expected genre lines. Overall a below-to-average effort across all dimensions with no standout category.
