Quartile rating: 7/10 · 1 rating
The four old friends meet on the grave of the fifth of them, Perozzi, who died at the end of the first episode. Time has passed but they are still up for adventures and cruel jokes, and while they recall the one they created together with the late friend, new ones are on their way, starting right there at the cemetery.
My Friends Act II is a competent Italian comedy sequel that reunites the beloved ensemble for more episodic pranks and bittersweet camaraderie. The plot is loosely structured around gags and reminiscences, carrying emotional weight through Perozzi's absence, but it largely recycles the formula of the original without significant narrative development. The acting remains warm and naturalistic from the seasoned cast, though without the late Ugo Tognazzi the chemistry shifts slightly. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable for the era. As a sequel following the same blueprint, novelty is limited — it delivers more of the same rather than pushing into new territory. The ending maintains the bittersweet tone fitting the series but doesn't land with the same punch as the first film's conclusion.
