Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment.
The Legend of Tarzan is a competent but largely uninspired take on the classic character. The plot is formulaic—a villain-driven adventure with predictable beats—and the script fails to give its leads much to work with, resulting in a flat performance from Alexander Skarsgård and underutilized supporting talent. Cinematography offers some attractive African landscapes and decent action staging, lifting it slightly above the rest. Novelty is low; despite the 'acclimated Tarzan in London' framing, the film offers little fresh perspective on the character or the genre. The ending resolves predictably without emotional payoff, consistent with the film's overall middling execution.
