Arthur answers a distress call from Princess Selenia, who is menaced by the nefarious Maltazard.
The second entry in Luc Besson's Arthur and the Minimoys franchise continues the blend of live-action and CGI animation that gave the series its distinctive visual identity, but the story feels thin and padded compared to the original. Maltazard as a villain adds some menace but the plot is largely a rescue mission without much depth or surprise. The voice acting is functional but unremarkable, and the film ends on a cliffhanger (setting up the third film) that feels more frustrating than satisfying. The hybrid live-action/miniature animated world remains visually interesting but less novel than in the first film.
