The Dynamic Duo faces four super-villains who plan to hold the world for ransom with the help of a secret invention that instantly dehydrates people.
The 1966 Batman film is a gleefully campy extension of the TV series, leaning hard into its absurdist, self-aware humor. The plot is deliberately thin and episodic — four villains teaming up around a dehydration gimmick is more a vehicle for gags than genuine storytelling. The acting is committed and charming in its intentional over-the-top style, with Adam West and Cesar Romero delivering performances that perfectly suit the parody tone. Cinematographically it's functional TV-level work with bright, flat lighting typical of the era and genre. Its novelty lies in being one of the earliest major superhero parodies done with such earnest absurdism, though it's very much an extension of an existing TV property rather than a wholly original creation. The ending resolves neatly but without any particular cleverness or impact beyond the usual campy wrap-up.
