In London for the Prime Minister's funeral, Mike Banning discovers a plot to assassinate all the attending world leaders.

The Quartile Take

London Has Fallen is a straightforward sequel to Olympus Has Fallen that doubles down on over-the-top action with little narrative sophistication. The plot is predictable and relies heavily on action movie tropes, with paper-thin villains and a contrived setup. The acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with Gerard Butler doing his gruff hero routine and Aaron Eckhart given little to do. Cinematography is competent but uninspired, leaning on shaky-cam and quick cuts typical of mid-budget action films. Novelty is low as it is a by-the-numbers sequel recycling the same premise in a new location. The ending delivers the expected cathartic resolution with some decent tension, slightly elevating it above the rest of the film's execution.
