Chapman is an ex-marine in Brazil's slums, battling the yakuza outfit who attacked his sister and left her for dead.
Falcon Rising is a fairly by-the-numbers action revenge thriller that blends familiar marine-gone-vigilante tropes with a Brazil favela setting and yakuza antagonists. Michael Jai White brings physicality to the lead role but the script and character development are thin. The Brazilian locations provide some visual interest, lifting cinematography slightly above average, but the plot is generic, the acting serviceable at best, the ending predictable, and there is little to distinguish it from dozens of similar DTV action entries.
