Junior and his father, Ben, move from Cold River to Mortville. Junior becomes threatened by Ben's desire to date again and find a new mother for Junior, and sabotages each of his dates.
Problem Child 2 is a largely formulaic sequel that recycles the mischievous-child chaos of the original with minimal creative reinvention. The plot is a thin, predictable string of gross-out gags and sabotage set pieces. Acting is broadly cartoonish and serviceable for the genre but nothing distinguished. Cinematography is utterly workmanlike, indistinguishable from any low-budget early-90s studio comedy. Novelty is genuinely low — it's a by-the-numbers sequel rehashing the same premise with a new location and a female counterpart villain child added for minor variation. The ending resolves predictably with sentimental family bonding, consistent with the rest of the film's formulaic approach.
