Unlocked is a competent but thoroughly formulaic spy thriller. The plot hits familiar beats — rogue agent, mole hunt, bioterrorism MacGuffin — without much originality or surprise. The cast (Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom, Michael Douglas, John Malkovich) elevates the material somewhat, delivering watchable performances despite underwritten roles. Cinematography is serviceable London-set action fare with nothing visually distinctive. Novelty is low given the recycled conspiracy thriller template. The ending resolves predictably without much payoff. A watchable midtier genre exercise that doesn't distinguish itself.
