The Quartile Take

The Invisible Boy is a modest Italian family sci-fi film that treads well-worn ground of the shy outcast discovering a superpower. The premise is familiar and the plot execution is fairly predictable, offering little surprise in its story beats. Acting from the young cast is competent and charming enough to carry the film, and the cinematography is serviceable with a few visually appealing moments. Novelty is limited as the invisible-person concept and underdog teen narrative have been done many times before without a sufficiently distinctive voice here. The ending wraps up without much impact or memorability, landing in safe territory typical of family-oriented genre films.
