After falling victim to a humiliating prank by the high school Queen Bee, best friends and world-class geeks, Mindy and Jodi, decide to get their revenge by uniting the outcasts of the school against her and her circle of friends.
The Outcasts is a fairly formulaic teen comedy that follows the well-worn revenge-of-the-nerds template without adding much that's distinctive. The plot is predictable — outcasts unite to overthrow the popular clique — offering little surprise. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable from its young cast. Cinematography is standard TV-movie level, functional but uninspired. Novelty is low given how closely it hews to genre conventions without a distinctive voice or fresh spin. The ending is its strongest point, delivering a modestly satisfying resolution that lands the emotional beats it aims for, even if the path there is familiar.
