A competent live-action remake of the 1991 animated classic, but novelty is genuinely low — it follows the animated film almost beat for beat, adding little that feels fresh or distinctive. The plot faithfully reproduces the beloved fairy tale structure, acting is serviceable with standout moments from Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson but Emma Watson draws mixed reactions, and the cinematography is lush but overly reliant on CGI that can feel sterile compared to the hand-drawn warmth of the original. The ending satisfies as expected but offers no surprises. Its value lies in spectacle and nostalgia rather than any new creative vision.
