Quartile rating: 7/10 · 1 rating
Five down-on-their luck strangers meet by chance while looking at a property in the country none of them are able to afford. They decide to join forces and risk everything to turn it into a B&B, only for the local mafia to show up demanding their "fair" share.
A modestly charming Italian ensemble comedy with a familiar premise—mismatched strangers pooling resources against adversity and local organized crime. The plot follows well-trodden territory of underdog cooperation stories with the mafia wrinkle adding mild tension but little surprise. Acting is competent and warm within the ensemble format, though no standout performances elevate it beyond its genre peers. Cinematography is functional and unremarkable, suited to the light comedic tone but not visually distinctive. Novelty is limited as the concept recycles recognizable Italian comedy tropes without a particularly unique voice or execution. The ending resolves pleasantly if predictably, delivering the expected emotional payoff without much ambiguity or surprise.
