A Foreign Service Officer in London tries to prevent a terrorist attack set to hit New York, but is forced to go on the run when she is framed for crimes she did not commit.
Survivor is a generic, by-the-numbers thriller that recycles familiar spy/action tropes — the framed protagonist on the run, the shadowy assassin, the ticking-clock terrorist plot — without adding much freshness. The plot is predictable and riddled with conveniences, and the script wastes a capable cast including Milla Jovovich and Pierce Brosnan, who deliver serviceable but uninspired performances. The London and New York locations are competently shot but unremarkably so. The ending resolves in a formulaic showdown with little tension or surprise. It sits firmly in middling action-thriller territory with nothing distinctive to elevate it above the crowd.
