My Little Pony: The Movie is a competent big-screen expansion of the beloved TV series, offering vibrant animation and catchy songs that fans will enjoy. The plot follows a very familiar save-the-world journey structure with little subversion, hitting predictable beats throughout. Voice acting is solid, benefiting from a strong ensemble cast including some notable additions. Visually the film upgrades the TV show's art style to a more cinematic look with fluid animation, though it doesn't push boundaries for theatrical animation. Novelty is limited as it largely extends the TV series formula without reimagining it. The ending resolves neatly and satisfyingly for the target audience but offers no real surprises.
