That's Entertainment! is a loving and expertly curated compilation of MGM's golden-age musical highlights, presented by a roster of genuine legends. The acting score reflects the extraordinary talent on display in the clips themselves — Astaire, Kelly, Garland, and others at their peak. The compilation format means there's no traditional plot to speak of, earning a low score there. Cinematography is solid but uneven across decades of source material. As a studio retrospective format it was relatively novel for its time but not a wholly unique conception. The ending, like the rest, is warm but unremarkable structurally.
