Keanu is a lightweight buddy comedy built around a cute kitten premise — charming but thin. Key & Peele's chemistry carries the film, and their comedic timing elevates material that is otherwise formulaic. The plot is predictable crime-comedy scaffolding with few surprises, and the ending wraps up without much impact. Cinematography is serviceable but unremarkable for the genre. The kitten-as-MacGuffin conceit and Key & Peele's unique comedic voice give it enough distinctiveness to stand above generic, but it doesn't fully capitalize on its premise.
