When one school teacher gets the other fired, he is challenged to an after-school fight.
Fist Fight is a broad, predictable comedy built on a thin premise with little narrative depth. The plot is formulaic and telegraphed from start to finish. Ice Cube and Charlie Day have decent comedic chemistry that elevates the material somewhat, and the supporting cast including Tracy Morgan and Jillian Bell adds some laughs. Visually it's unremarkable, shot like a standard studio comedy with no distinctive flair. The concept isn't particularly fresh and treads familiar underdog/workplace comedy ground. The climactic fight scene delivers on its promise with some genuine comedic payoff, making the ending slightly above average for what the film sets out to do.
