As a rowdy team of detectives clashes with their disciplined new boss, they must catch a vicious band of robbers who are wreaking havoc on their city.
Antigang is a fairly routine French action-crime thriller that follows well-worn genre territory: a maverick cop unit clashing with a by-the-book superior while chasing violent criminals. The plot offers few surprises and leans heavily on familiar archetypes. Acting is serviceable, with Jean Reno lending some gravitas to his lead role, but the ensemble work is uneven. Cinematography is functional without being particularly stylish for the genre. The film brings little novelty — it closely mirrors the tone and structure of countless similar European and Hollywood cop procedurals. The ending resolves predictably without much impact. Overall a passable but forgettable genre entry.
