After a high school lab experiment goes horribly wrong, Mordecai and Rigby must go back in time to battle an evil volleyball coach in order to save the universe — and their friendship.
Regular Show: The Movie is a solid extended adventure for fans of the series, delivering the show's trademark absurdist humor and heartfelt friendship themes in a time-travel wrapper. The plot is engaging if formulaic for the franchise — a high-stakes escalation of a personal conflict that fans expect. Voice acting is consistent with the series standard. The cinematography is a step up from the TV show with cleaner animation and more cinematic framing, but nothing groundbreaking. The ending earns marks for its emotional payoff, landing the friendship arc with genuine sincerity that the show always excelled at. Novelty is decent — it does what Regular Show does distinctively, though as a movie extension of an existing IP it doesn't reinvent itself dramatically.
