The Quartile Take

The Tuche Family: The American Dream is a middling French comedy sequel that follows the fish-out-of-water formula of its predecessor but transplants the action to Los Angeles with diminishing returns. The plot is predictable and formulaic, recycling the class-clash humor of the original without adding much new. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable, with the ensemble doing competent work in broad comedic roles. Cinematography is functional at best, typical of mainstream French comedies with no distinctive visual identity. As a sequel that largely repackages the original's premise in a new setting, novelty is low. The ending wraps up in a predictable, feel-good manner consistent with the genre. Overall a passable but unmemorable entry in the franchise.
