When an elite assassin marries a beautiful computer whiz after a whirlwind romance, he gives up the gun and settles down with his new bride. That is, until he learns that someone from his past has put a contract out on his life.
Killers (2010) is a formulaic action-comedy that squanders its premise and star power. The plot is a recycled mashup of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' without the wit or tension, relying on tired twists and convenient coincidences. Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl lack chemistry, and the performances are largely flat and unconvincing. Cinematography is competent and occasionally glossy, benefiting from attractive locations, but offers nothing distinctive. The film brings no originality to the genre — it hits every expected beat of the suburban-spy comedy without subverting or elevating any of them. The ending is predictable and unsatisfying, wrapping up conflicts too neatly without earning its resolutions.
