Theseus is a mortal man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion, who is on a rampage across Greece to obtain a weapon that can destroy humanity.
Immortals is a visually stunning film directed by Tarsem Singh, whose painterly aesthetic and hyper-stylized slow-motion action sequences make the cinematography genuinely exceptional — a clear standout. However, the plot is a fairly generic hero's journey through Greek mythology with little depth or surprise, and the acting is uneven with flat characterizations despite a capable cast. The ending feels rushed and unsatisfying, failing to deliver the emotional payoff the setup promises. Novelty gets a modest boost for Tarsem's unmistakable visual identity and the operatic staging of the gods, though the underlying story beats are familiar.
