When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.'s digitized champions on the court. It's Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life.
Space Jam: A New Legacy retreads the original film's formula with LeBron James replacing Michael Jordan, but adds little new beyond a Warner Bros. IP showcase. The plot is thin and predictable, leaning heavily on corporate cross-promotion rather than storytelling. LeBron's acting is stiff and unconvincing in the live-action segments, and the father-son dynamic feels underdeveloped. The animation and visual mixing of live-action with Looney Tunes is competent but not inspired. The ending resolves with little surprise or emotional payoff. The film feels largely derivative and formulaic, failing to capture the charm of the original while offering nothing particularly distinctive of its own.
