In the dark heart of a sprawling, anonymous city, two assassins carry out a sinister mission, a teacher battles a fatal illness, and an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress lead dangerous double lives. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night, as their lives intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind who is hell-bent on revenge.

The Quartile Take

Terminal is a style-over-substance neo-noir that leans heavily on neon-drenched, hyper-stylized visuals — its greatest asset, delivering a genuinely striking aesthetic that recalls Sin City and classic pulp fiction. Margot Robbie commits to her enigmatic dual-role performance with energy, though the supporting cast is unevenly served by the script. The plot, however, is labyrinthine in a way that feels more obfuscating than clever, with twists that strain credibility rather than satisfying. The ending attempts a big reveal but lands as convoluted rather than earned, undermining the intrigue built throughout. As a neo-noir entry it hits familiar genre beats without truly distinguishing itself narratively, making it memorable mainly for its look.
