This 2018 live-action take on The Little Mermaid is a low-budget, largely forgettable reimagining set along the Mississippi River. The plot is thin and derivative, borrowing loosely from the fairy tale without adding meaningful depth. Acting is serviceable but unremarkable across the board. Cinematography is adequate but uninspired for a fantasy adventure. The werewolf and witch elements add some quirk but feel underdeveloped rather than genuinely novel.
