The life of a bank manager is turned upside down when a friend from his past manipulates him into faking his own death and taking off on an adventure.
The Do-Over is a fairly standard Adam Sandler Netflix comedy that delivers little beyond its formula. The plot relies on predictable twists and recycled buddy-comedy conventions. Sandler and David Spade have familiar chemistry but neither stretches beyond their comfort zones. Cinematography is functional at best, shooting sunny locations without distinction. The concept of faking one's death for adventure isn't fresh, and the execution adds little originality. The ending wraps up neatly but without much satisfaction or surprise. A solidly mediocre entry in the Sandler Netflix catalog.
